In 1987 around 450 footballers gathered at the Miramare hotel in Limassol having in mind that it was time to earn their rights. The first board of PASP had been elected with Giannakis Giagoudakis as the first president and PASP was housed at the then offices of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, at a side street of Griva Digeni Avenue in Nicosia.

Testimonial

MARIOS STYLIANOU
«Along with the Fair Play award, a full scholarship was given to me by PASP. I would like to thank our Union and congratulate PASP for all the actions and promotions of Fair Play. It is important to be a member of PASP, as we footballers gain protection and power to claim our demands.»

BOY WATERMAN
«It is very important to be a member of the Footballers Union in any country you are playing. PASP takes care of its members, foreigners and Cypriots. Like VVCS (Union in Netherlands) I’ve been a member, PASP helps players about all the problems they face in their workplace, such as problems with their contracts. Also PASP’s awards. It’s always nice to get recognized for any achievement.»

CONSTANTINOS CHARALAMBIDES
«PASP has always been socially sensitive, and this has been shown by its support to “Goal in Life” from the very first moment. At the same time as a member of PASP, I am one of the first lucky graduates of FIFPro online academy. Now with my bachelor degree I see football from another point of view. I would like to thank PASP through my heart.»

LOUKRITIA CHRYSOSTOMOU
«PASP’s football assessments for scholarships were a great experience for me. The fact that the evaluators were from UK and worked in Premier League’s teams shows PASP’s good work. I couldn’t claim a scholarship without the help of PASP. It is very important that our Union helps us and is next to us.»
