Mental Health

For PASP, supporting its members on mental health matters is a top priority.

Providing psychological support to footballers, especially those forced to end their careers prematurely or facing other difficulties, is a key responsibility of the Association.

It is important for everyone to understand that footballers are not machines; they are human beings with the same stress, challenges, concerns, and anxieties as anyone else in today’s society.

Poor mental health can often affect players’ performance on the field and their overall career.

It is vital that mental health issues are diagnosed and addressed with the same dedication and care as physical injuries.

When it comes to mental health, every person and every player is different—there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Preventive measures are essential to educate the entire sector on both recognizing and compassionately addressing symptoms of poor mental health.

Many employees often feel unable to speak openly to their employer about mental health problems. We provide our members with seminars, informative material, and a network of mental health professionals offering psychological support at preferential rates.
